BINGHAMTON, NY -- “We’ve been playing pretty well, but we picked up some pretty good guys to help increase our depth,” said Jr. Senators head coach Chris Laganiere. “We’re off for a couple weeks, but that translates to us making a second half run. We’ll see how we play after Christmas, but so far, I’m pretty satisfied.”

Laganiere said all the players bring something different, “and that’s obviously why we picked them up. We had some areas we thought we needed to address.”

On defense, the team has brought in Moscovian Dinmukhamed Dzhangarashev and Tim O’Connor from the Jersey Wildcats.

“Those two guys on defense have helped us, and they’re both guys who played juniors before,” said Laganiere. “Tim’s a 20-year-old who has been playing junior hockey for four years, so he was already pretty experienced. We had a pretty young defensive corps. The two of them have helped to stabilize the back end with their experience.”

Up front, R.C. Randall is a three-year NA3HL veteran who has already scored seven points in five games with the Jr. Senators. His seventh point was his 100th in 104 career regular season games.

“That has really helped us, bringing in Randall,” said Laganiere. “We’ve had a lot of injuries recently to some of our top guys. He’s helped to come in and play a big role for us. We’re looking to get the guys back healthy, and will only add to our depth.”

Caleb and Benjamin Beversdorf are identical twins who have joined and have picked up their offense from their prior stop (La Crosse Freeze). They had a combined 14 points in seven games with the Jr. Senators.

Ryan Gridley scored seven points in 15 games this season with the Jr. Senators.

“He is another experienced player, and young as a ’99,” said Laganiere. “Another ’99, [goalie] Brady Anderson, went to the league semis last year with Yellowstone, so he has already played for a team with a winning tradition.”

Anderson has gone 6-0-2 for the Jr. Senators out of the gate this year.

“He sees what it takes to get to the next level,” added Laganiere. “When you go to the [Fraser] Cup and play five games in five days, being able to play four lines and six defensemen is a big factor.”
