The Detroit Fighting Irish will be launching a pledge fundraiser which will take place during the months of November and December for the American Cancer Society.

The Fighting Irish are asking individuals and donors to pledge a quarter for every goal scored by the Fighting Irish during the months of November and December. Donors have the option of donating 1 to 4 quarters per goal, or they can opt for a one time flat donation to the program. The Irish staff will provide donors with weekly updates on the progression of the program and when completed, donors will be sent a statement to make the total donation.

To participate in the program you can register online at www.detroitfightingirish.com, in person at Detroit Fighting Irish home games or at the Detroit Fighting Irish offices at the Southgate Ice Arena at Southgate, Mich.

The Fighting Irish Executive Staff announced that “We are excited about our new programs and our continued commitment to work with the American Cancer Society to help fight this fight.

“Today, it seems that all of us in our community are affected by cancer. On the job, in our families and our neighbors and friends. Our biggest defense is early detection, research and information. We believe it is our duty to be part of that information machine. We urge our fans, friends, families and business partners to join us to make this years program part of our continued success in this fight.”

The Irish have also announced that, throughout the “Quarters for the CureEvery goal Counts” campaign, the team’s media staff will produce Public Service Announcement videos which can be viewed on the team’s website and YouTube pages which will feature Fighting Irish staff and players’ personal stories and heroes in the fight against Cancer.
